Every project starts with someone’s creative idea. This mechanized TV lift cabinet is a fine example of one customer’s creative design made real by Expressions of Wood.

The idea of this beautiful birch cabinet is functionality and style. The cabinet was custom built to hide the TV by day, provide extra shelving, and complement the other furniture in the bedroom.

We think it succeeds in every way!

In 2012, to commemorate the 100^th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, Expressions of Wood was commissioned to build a replica of the Grand Staircase from the Titanic. This custom crafted staircase was prominently displayed in front of the Schooner Room in the lobby of the Casino Hotel in Halifax.

FURNITURE DESIGNER

Steve LeBlanc has designed most of the custom crafted furniture and unique projects made at Expressions of Wood. With more than 20 years experience as a furniture designer and builder, Steve is pleased to consult with clients to design and build enduring wood pieces.

Initial Consult

Drop by for an initial consult. Show us your idea with the measurements of the space you choose or photos and any information to describe the project you intend to make. Choose the type and colour of natural wood you want. Together, we will develop a sketch.

Design & Program

From the sketch stage, we make technical drawings, refine the wood furniture design, and work up a quote and timeline for production.

Production

When all aspects of your custom-made wood project have been reviewed; design, selections, budget and timeline – the project is scheduled for production and sent to the shop.
